AFFORDABLE ELEGANCE
When old masters make the headlines these days, the news almost invariably concerns either a huge price paid for some rare masterpiece at one of the venerable auction houses, or the (re)discovery of a long-lost chef-d'oeuvre, bound to make its new owner a killing. But apart from the glitz and glamour of high-profile rediscoveries (and their accompanying - often dizzying - prices), a good quality old master can often be had for a relatively modest sum, especially when compared to modern and contemporary art. In recent years we were pleased to welcome many new collectors - often people in their twenties or thirties - to the gallery, who were happily surprised to see that many works by the old masters were well within their reach.
Below we have assembled a choice selection of over 30 works, all under 15.000,- EUR, which - we hope - will appeal to starting and seasoned collectors alike. All are by well-known names, in good condition and thorouhly researched and documented, and with prices starting at 850,- EUR, there is something here for everyone. With our new 'view on a wall' feature, you'll instantly get an idea of the scale of the artwork, and how it would look at home. See anything you like? Please do not hesitate to get in touch, or come by during our Open Gallery Weekend (14 - 17 December) or by appointment to view the works in person.
